It is that childlike humor and experimentation that inspires us to do what we do. 1134 Press is an independent publisher and bookmaker based in Baltimore. It was founded by G.J Sieck (a comic artist, writer, and metal head) and myself, Bryonna Sieck (writer, book artist, and goof ball). We met each other while attending an M.F.A. in creative writing and publishing arts program. We decided to join forces because of our love for writing, books, and affinity for outsider-hood, and the strange. 

We took an influential creativity class during our first year of the M.F.A. that was structured around journaling. Our ideas about writing and the endless possibilities of what a journal could be was transformative to us as creators. It is our hope that our publications and journaling inspiration will spark that same kind of creative
energy for you!
